GOD ARRANGES FOR PEOPLE TO MEET JESUS
God the Father arranges for people to meet his Son Jesus Christ. This is so people may have a loving and everlasting relationship with God (John 6:44).
THE FATHER ARRANGED FOR PEOPLE TO SEE JESUS WHEN HE WAS IN THE WORLD:
HOW THE FATHER ARRANGED FOR A SAMARITAN WOMAN TO MEET HIS SON.
When Jesus met a Samaritan woman at a well, he asked her if she would draw water so he could drink. She recognized that Jesus was a Jew; and knew that Jews did not associate with Samaritans. However, Jesus told her if she knew who he [really] was, she would have asked him for a drink; and he would have given her living water that springs up to eternal life. (He was speaking of the Holy Spirit whom Jesus would give to people who believed in him as God’s promised Savior John 7:38-39].
Jesus went on to tell her details about her disappointing past life with several husbands and companions. She was convinced that Jesus was a prophet and the Messiah that was promised in the Scripture. She was so impressed by Jesus, she went and told other people that she had seen the promised Messianic Savior. They came out to see Jesus. They also believed. (John 4:5-30).
HOW THE FATHER ARRANGED FOR DISCIPLES TO MEET JESUS.
After Jesus began to preach, he was walking by the Sea of Galilee when he met his first disciples—Peter, Andrew, James and John. They were fishermen. But Jesus told them “come follow me and I will send you to fish for people. The left their boats and nets and followed him (Matthew 4:17-22).
Disciples who followed Jesus saw him perform great miracles and demonstrate his great love for people (Acts 10:38). They saw him being crucified for sins of “whoever believes in him” (John 3:16). And they saw the Son of God raised from the dead, to be the mediator between God and mankind. The Lord God. inspired disciples who were Jesus’ eyewitnesses, to tell what they saw Jesus do, so that people might believe and be drawn to Jesus as their loving Savior and Lord (John 20:30-31).
HOW GOD ARRANGES FOR US TO MEET JESUS TODAY.
- When I was just a boy, God used my grandmother who knew Jesus Christ as her Savior and Lord, to teach me about Jesus. I accepted him as my Savior and Lord.
- If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord, the Father arranged for someone to tell you and teach you about Jesus. And he instructs you to tell and teach others about him (Mark 16:15-16; 2 Timothy 2:25-26)
- If you have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord, in hearing about his Son (Roman 10:14), God is knocking at the door of you heart, seeking to come in and fellowship with you (Revelation 3:20).
Too as many as believe in and accept Jesus as Savior and Lord, God gives the right to be children of God and to live forever in loving and heavenly fellowship with God (John 1:12; John 14:2-3).
