GOD’S WORD ON CREATION AND PROCREATION
The Bible-Word of God tells us in Genesis, chapter 1, that God was the author of creation and procreation. But many people believe God was not the Creator. They theorize that everything came into existence by and evolutionary process—not involving God. As a result, they claim the right to believe and do “whatever seemed right in their own eyes” (Judges 17:6: Proverbs 21:2). But the inspired biblical Word of God says: “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
THE BIBLE REVEALS GOD’S AUTHORITY AS CREATOR AND PROCREATOR
- “God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it” (Genesis 1:27-28).
- “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made” (John 1:1-3).
- “The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him” (Colossians 1:15-16).
- “For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters” (Romans 8:29).
- The Son of God, Jesus Christ, gave proof that God is the author and controller of all creation by his miraculous birth; and by the miracles he performed which nobody else could—raise dead people to life (John 11:38-44), cast evil spirits out of demon-possessed people (Matthew 8:28-34), calm a stormy sea (Mark 4:35-39), and some other unequaled miracles recorded in the Bible (John 20:30-31).
SOME PEOPLE MAY NOT RECOGNIZE GOD’S AUTHORITY
People on the United States Supreme Court decided in their 1973 Roe v. Wade case that women have the right to have abortions. For various reasons, some women may have abortions—God, the absolute judge, knows if their reasons are justified before Him.
GOD HELPS PEOPLE WITH PROBLEMS OF ABORTION AND “SIN“
Americans United For Health organization said: “Decades of medical evidence has revealed that abortion carries significant psychological risks, including increased risks of depression, anxiety, and suicide” (AUF.org).
Some women who have abortions may react as mentioned above because of having a sensitive conscience that causes them to feel “guilty.” Consciously or unconsciously they may have absorbed some of the moral teachings in their culture that says having an abortion is a sin. And teaches that whoever commits sin (disobedience to God) is worthy of death. How likely then is it for someone who have had an abortion to have deep feelings of guilt causing suicidal thoughts?
If someone does feel that having an abortion is sin, or has sinned for any reason, the Bible says all have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). And it says: “the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).
Although God will forgive any sin, the one who is forgiven will need God’s help in dealing with other resulting problems. For instance, the one who conceives a baby outside marriage will need God’s help in rearing the child; or in deciding to give the child to someone—family or other—who wants the child. God works all things together for good for those who love and obey him, by the power of the Holy Spirit ((Romans 8:28; John 14:15-17).
GOD GIVES LOVING BIBLE-GUIDANCE ON PROCREATING HIS WAY:
The Lord said: “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, 5and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’?
Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge (Hebrews 13:4). But “God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him” (John 3:17).
God said: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart. (Jeremiah 1:5). “Did not He who made me in the womb make them? Did not the same One fashion us in the womb?” (Job 31:15). “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb” (Psalm 139:13).
The Lord said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” (Matthew 19:14).
In Psalm 127:3, God tells us, “Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a real blessing”
GOD GAVE US THE CHILD JESUS AS HIS GREATEST GIFT
The Bible tells us: “the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel [God with us/Jesus]” (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-23). “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). Because of the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, God may forgives all manner of sin (Matthew 12:31). “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
When we believe in Jesus Christ and repent of our sins we are born again of the Holy Spirit (John 3:5-8: Acts 2:38). “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
