KNOW AND SOW THE TRUTH
Jesus said: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). Jesus instructs those who know the truth to go into all the world and sow the seed of the gospel so others might believe and be eternally saved (Mark 16:15-16; John 3:16).
JESUS TOLD A STORY ABOUT SOWING THE SEED OF THE GOSPEL OF TRUTH.
Jesus told a parable in which people are given opportunity to hear the truth of the word of God to be saved. In the parable, a farm-worker sows seed that is the “word of God;” however, the seed fall on different grounds or hearts:
“Those [that fall] along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature.
But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop,” (Luke 8:4-15).
It is not God’s desire that anyone should perish; but that everyone repentant of their sins and believe in the truth of Jesus Christ, and be saved (2 Peter 3:9). God sends his workers into the field of the world to spread the gospel and give people the opportunity to hear the good news of salvation through his Son Jesus Christ.
THE LORD KNOWS PEOPLE NEEDED TO HEAR THE GOSPEL TO BELIEVE AND BE SAVED.
As repentant believers in God’s Word today, we know that everyone has to appear before God to be judged according to the truth of God’s Word (Corinthians 5:10). Our Savior and Lord has assigned believers the responsibility of sowing or proclaiming the gospel-Truth to the world. The true-gospel is proclaimed by the Word of God and living the way Christ would have us live.
As God gives believers opportunity, they ought to tell others the gospel truth:
“All have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 6:23). The wages of sin is death, and eternal separation from God; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ. (Romans 6:23).
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son” (John 3:16-18).
Furthermore, Jesus said, “Your light must shine before people in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). “For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day” (John 6:40).
Our Lord assures us and whoever repents and believes in hi Son Jesus Christ according to God’s Word will be saved to live with God in heaven forever, when he returns with his angels (John 14:3; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).
