FINDING GOD THROUGH JESUS WITH SPIRITUAL EYES
Jesus said, “No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). The Bible shows that some people saw God through Jesus, but others did not. Jesus said it is my Father in heaven who reveals him as the Son of God (Matthew 16:16-17). The word of God tells us whoever seeks the Lord with all their heart shall find him (Jeremiah 29:13).
SOME SAW GOD THROUGH MIRACLES OF JESUS.
A MAN BORN BLIND whom Jesus healed, believed that God was in Jesus, for man said no one had every healed a person that was born blind. However, some who saw this miracle and other unparalleled miracles done by Jesus, still did not believe God was in Jesus doing these things. (John 9:1-45; John 15:24).
LAZARUS, who had been dead for four days was raised back to life—Some saw this as God working through Jesus. Nevertheless, others did not believe. (John 11:17-51).
OTHERS. SAW GOD THROUGH JESUS ON THE CROSS.
TWO CRIMINALS were crucified beside Jesus. One of them assailed Jesus, saying, if you are the Christ save yourself an us. The other criminal who recognized Jesus as the Christ, said to Jesus, “remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus replied, “today you will be with me in paradise (Luke 23:39-43).
ROMAN SOLDIERS helped to crucify Jesus. But when some saw the earth quake and terrifying things happen at the time he died, they said: “This man truly was the Son of God!” (Matthew 27:54).
STILL OTHERS SAW GOD IN JESUS THROUGH THE LORD’S RESURRECTION
DISCIPLES saw Jesus after his resurrection, and believed. But Thomas who was not with those disciple, would not believe until Jesus let him put his finger and hand in the wounds that occurred when Jesus was crucified, Thomas then said, “my Lord and my God.” (1 Corinthians 15:3-9; John 20:27-28). Yet some others people would not believe the testimony of Lord’s disciples who witnessed his death and resurrection. They lied saying the disciples of Jesus stole his dead body during the night (Matthew 28:11-15).
However, the Lord said, “blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed” (John 20;29).
WE SEE JESUS AS THE SON OF GOD THROUGH SPIRITUAL EYES.
The Biblical Word of God tells us how to see God. In the Bible, Jesus said: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). And
Jesus said, “flesh and blood has not revealed this [God’s Son] to you, but My Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 16:17). Even though we have not seen Jesus in the flesh, when God sees we have a whole-hearted desire to know him, he reveals Jesus Christ as the Son of God though our spiritual eyes.
The Word says, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13). And when we see Jesus through spiritual eyes, “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God” (Romans 8:16).
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
