CHOOSING THE BIBLE WAY TO HAPPINESS
The “inspired” biblical Word of God reveals God’s way to true and lasting happiness (2 Timothy 3:16-17): It reveals that Jesus Christ, God who made everything (John 1:1-3), came in the flesh and died to atone for our sins to redeem us to God (Romans 3:23; 6:23); and to give us abundant and eternal life (John 3:16; 10:10). And the divine Son declared: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the [heavenly] Father except through me” (John 14:6). But the Bible says there are some, including those with other books, who “distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them” (Acts 20:30). However, God’s wants all people to choose the Holy Bible’s way to lasting and heavenly happiness (2 Peter 3:9).
OTHER BOOKS MAY OFFER DIFFERENT WAYS TO HAPPINESS.
Books, like The Secret, offer various other ways than the Bible to happiness. The Secret way says, “You are God manifested in human form” (p164)–and that the secret to happiness is found in your connecting to a universal “law of attraction.” In The Secret, the author says the following about the universal law of attraction that is a way to “health, wealth and happiness” (p 25, inner front flap):
- This Law is said to be about a universal energy which allows you to attract to yourself what you like.
- The energy is said to cause you to attract to yourself what you concentrate on or think of most.
- For centuries, some of the greatest people in the world are said to have used the Law of Attraction for success and happiness. This includes such people as Plato, Shakespeare, Beethoven, Carnegie and Einstein—people from such religions as Hinduism, Judaism, Christianity and Islam–and people from such civilizations as the Ancient Babylonians and Egyptians (p.4).
- This book includes testimonies of several notable people who attribute their wealth and success to the Law of Attraction.
- Nothing is said about The Secret way leading one to lasting happiness.
- ïThis book focuses primarily on achieving temporally things of this world; not on lasting heavenly things (Colossians 3:2)
Could The Secret way be the way the Bible speaks of when it says: “There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death” (Provers 14:12)?
Could it be as the Bible says that Satan, “In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God” (2 Corinthians 4:4)?
THE BIBLE TELLS US ALL ABOUT GOD’S WAY TO HAPINESS.
The Bible says, “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right (2 Timothy 3:16).
- The biblical Scripture tells us our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ came that we “may have life, and have it to the full” (Joh n 10:10).
- It tells us, “set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things” (Colossians 3:1-2).
- According to the Bible, God created all things by Jesus Christ, for His glory; and happiness and fulfillment is found in him (Colossians 1:16).
- In seeking the Lord, God will meet all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).
- Seek first the Kingdom of God and Its righteous and God will give you the earthly things you need; and things you desire, according to His will (Matthew 6:33; Psalm 37:4; 1 John 5:14).
- Ancient greats of the Bible, like Abraham, Job, David, attest to the fact that God blesses those who primarily focus on the Lord. In concentrating on the Lord, these people had a happy relationship with the Lord, and were given desirable things of the world that glorify God.
- Those who repent and believe in Jesus Christ as the way are assured of eternal life (John 3:16).
- The Lord he will meet all your needs according to his riches in glory and give you the desires of your heart (Matthews 6:33; Philippians 4:19; Psalm 37:4).
- And if you seek first the kingdom of God and delight in the Lord he will meet all your needs according to his riches in glory and give you the desires of your heart (Matthews 6:33; Philippians 4:19; Psalm 37:4).
- After Jesus rose from the dead and was returning heaven, he assured those who believe in him, he will come back (Acts 1:11).
- And he said, “I am with you always, even unto the end of the world” (Matthew 28:20.
In the Bible our resurrected Savior and Lord Jesus Christ appeals to all to choose him, in divinely declaring ,““I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).
