GOD ANSWERS HEARTS CALLS
Some people may feel if they call on the Lord he may disregard their call. But God’s Word says: When you seek him with all your heart you will find that he answers with love–(Jeremiah 29:13)–For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (Jeremiah 29:13; John 3:16).
A DYING CRIMINAL CALLING WITH HIS HEART
The Lord Jesus Christ looked at the hearts of two criminals who were crucified with him. One of the criminals did acknowledge his sins or Jesus as Savior. The other criminal recognized his sins and Christ as the Son of God. In calling on Jesus, this criminal said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
In dying the repentant sinner had no opportunity to do good works; but the Word of God says, “if there is first a willing mind, it is accepted according to what one has, and not according to what he does not have” (2 Corinthians 8:12).
The Bibles says, “it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9).
A ROMAN CENTURION CALLING WITH HIS HEART
There was a Roman centurion named Cornelius who did not know Jesus as his Savior and Lord, but “he gave generously to those in need and prayed to God regularly.” However, knowing his heart desired to know who God was, he sent the apostle Peter to tell him about the Lord Jesus Christ. Cornelius and his household believed the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ and they were saved. (Acts 10:1-18).
The Bible tells us, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household” (Acts 16:31).
PEOPLE CALLING FROM AFAR
The Lord knew people in Macedonia had a heart’s readiness to accept him. The apostle Paul saw a night-vision of a man of Macedonia, urging him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” Paul went to Macedonia, “concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them” (Acts 16:9-10).
Because of God’s love for all people, the Lord instructs us as his disciples, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned” (Mark 16:15-16).
WHOEVER CALLS WITH AN HONEST HEART
When you seek him with all your heart you will find that he answers with love–(Jeremiah 29:13)–For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (Jeremiah 29:13; John 3:16).
And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing.(2 Timothy 4:8).
