KNOWING THE GOD OF ALL EXISTENCE
Many people have questions and theories about God and our existence. The Holy Bible, the “inspired” words of God, states as facts: “Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God” (Psalm 90:2;). And “in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him” (Colossians 1:16; John 1:1-3).
God’s Holy Word says, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13). For the earnest seeker, the biblical inspired Word of God reveals all you need to know about God and our existence (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
HOW WE MAY KNOW GOD EXISTS
The biblical Word of God says: “Since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse” (Romans 1:19-20).
“Although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools” (Romans 1:21-22).
FOOLISH THINKING THAT HINDERS KNOWING WHO GOD IS
HUMANISTIC THINKING. Some people may deny the existence of God, as atheists do. Others may claim they do not know whether God exists, as agnostics do. They may choose to leave God out of their thinking about things they see exist. Denying God, they may show their humanistic thinking about existence with statements like “we exist therefore….”
This way of thinking disregards what the Bible says about our existing because God created us:
- In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made…” (John 1-3, 14; Genesis 1:27-28).
- In [the Lord God] all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. (Colossians( 1:16;).
NEW AGE THINKING. Some People with distorted religious thinking, teach that their having been made in the image of God, makes them “one with God”–“equal with God”–“sinless like God.” And that their “good works” qualifies them for eternal life in heaven.
Such are those “having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof” (2 Timothy 3:5), In their foolish and darkened thinking they fail to see or act according the following truths of the biblical words of God:
- The Lord God said: “Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me” (Isaiah 43:10).
- I am the LORD, and there is no other, besides me there is no God (Isaiah 45:5).
- All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). [Some evidently disregard what the Bible says about mankind’s disobedient and sinful nature inherited from Adam and Eve (Romans 5:12; Genesis 3)].
- All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.” (Romans 3:12).
- All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6).
- “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
- For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith [in Jesus Christ]—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast (Ephesians 28:9).
HOW TO KNOW WHO THE GOD OF ALL EXISTENCE IS
The Holy Bible informs whoever seeks God with all their heart that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who was in the beginning with God, created all things that exist (John 1:1-3, 14). And he has revealed exactly who the only true God is. Jesus said: “No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known” (John 1:18; John 17:3; Hebrews 1:1-3). Jesus also said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).
JESUS MANIFESTED THAT HE IS THE DIVINE SON OF SON
- Jesus demonstrated before many eyewitness that he is the divine Son of God with power over the universe, and with life in himself while he was in the world. He did what no other person has done (John 15:24; 20:30-31).
- He calmed a stormy sea. He got up from sleeping on a boat, “rebuked the wind and said to the waves, ‘Quiet! Be still!’ Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.” (Mark 4:35-41).
- The Lord raised people from the dead, like a man name Lazarus who had been dead for four days. Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die” (John 11:17-44).
- After Jesus was crucified and buried for three days he rose from the dead to die no more (1 Corinthians 15:4; Revelation 1:18).
- Jesus Christ showed that he is God’s promised Messianic Savior of the world by fulfilling all Bible prophecies concerning him (Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; Luke 24:44-48).
Because of God’s great love for us he lets us know: “God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. (John 3:16-18).
The Holy Bible reveals that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is the manifestation of the God of all existence. And to whoever repents and believes in him, he gives the Spirit of God (John 14”15-17); and “the right to become children of God” (John 1:10-12).
