ACKNOWLEDGED BY GOD FOR ACKNOWLEDGING JESUS
Jesus said, “Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven” (Matthew 10:32-33). “For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day” (John 6:40).
A WOMAN ACKNOWLEDGED FOR ACKNOWLEDGING JESUS BEFORE OTHERS
While Jesus was in Bethany in the home of Simon the Leper, 7 a woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, which she poured on his head as he was reclining at the table.
8 When the disciples saw this, they were indignant. “Why this waste?” they asked. 9 “This perfume could have been sold at a high price and the money given to the poor.”
10 Aware of this, Jesus said to them, “Why are you bothering this woman? She has done a beautiful thing to me. 11 The poor you will always have with you,[a] but you will not always have me. 12 When she poured this perfume on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial. 13 Truly I tell you, wherever this gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her” (Matthew 26:6-13).
And Jesus promise in Matthew 10:32 also applied to this woman. “Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven” (Matthew 10:32).
PETER AND OTHER DISCIPLES ARE ACKNOWLEDGED…
PETER. On the day of Pentecost, Peter and other disciples, being filled with the Holy Spirit, boldly preached the gospel to thousands of Jews, who had rejected Jesus . Peter told them, “you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross. But God raised him from the dead.” As a result of their preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, at least three thousand who heard the good news believed in Jesus as God’s promised Messianic Savior and were saved from their sins (Acts 2:41).
At another time, when authorities commanded the disciples not to speak or teach in the name of Jesus, Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him?… we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.” (Acts 4:18-20).
Jesus had promised his disciples, “ when the Son of Man will sit on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel” (Matthew 19:28).
PAUL. preached the gospel of Jesus Christ to Jews and non-Jews—including when he was “in danger from my fellow Jews, in danger from Gentiles.” He proclaimed the gospel even when he was arrested and imprisoned. He determined by the grace of God to go on proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. (2 Corinthians 11:23-31).
Paul said: “There is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing” (2 Timothy 4:8).
WE ARE PRESENTED TO THE FATHER FOR ACKNOWLEDGING JESUS
- A brother in the church that I attend says he uses every opportunity to speak to others about Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord. He said even when he goes out to eat at restaurants, he speaks loud enough so people next to him can hear him thank the Lord for his food.
- A younger brother in the church says he welcomes the opportunities God gives him to tells others about Jesus as his Savior and Lord. in having the opportunity to “counseling” with a troubled young man on their job, he said he has shared the good news about how the Lord has saved and helped him.
- As the Lord has given me opportunity, I have gladly shared the good news of Jesus Christ with others. I have shared about him among family, acquaintances, co-workers, in outreach to people in street ministries, substance abuse and prison rehab programs; and after retirement, to people on social media.
Whoever acknowledges Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord, glorifies him, they are blessed and others are saved. And Jesus will acknowledge us before his Father in heaven.
