GOD HELPS US SATISFY HIS REQUIREMENTS
Some people may say they are not sure of what God requires. Others might say they are unable to satisfy God’s requirements. However, the biblical Word of God says: All Scripture is God-breathed…so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
GOD’S BIBLE-WORD INFORMS US OF HIS REQUIREMENTS AND HELPS
The Bible informs us that: “In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.” (Hebrews 1:1-3).
God’s Word says “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). But “God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). And God gives believers the Holy Spirit to “help” them obey God and “do all things through Christ” (John 14:16; Philippians 4:13).
God make Word available throughout the World: Bibles are printed in almost every language; evangelists and ministers have preached the gospel most places in the world; the internet and other media have aired the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ throughout most of the world. God’s Word says, to whom much is given, much is required (Luke 12:48).
WE ARE REQUIRED TO BE BORN AGAIN OF THE SPIRIT
In the Bible, the Lord said: you must be born again by the washing with the Word and filled with the Spirit to enter the kingdom of God (John 3:5-8; Ephesians 5:26)
- You must recognize you have sinned and deserve to die and be separated from God eternally (Roman 3:23; 6:23)
- Be willing to repent of one’s sins to be saved from its penalty (Romans 6:23; Luke 13:3)
- Be willing to accepted Jesus Christ into your life as your Savior and Lord (Romans 6:23; John 3:16)?
REQUIRED TO OBEY GOD’S HOLY WORD
Accepting the Jesus Christ by being born again, begins our relationship with God. But the Bible says, people should live by every word of God (Matthew 4:4; 2 Timothy 3:16-17). God wants us to grow in our relationship with him and be conformed to the likeness of his only begotten Son, who always did what pleased the Father (John 8:29; Romans 8:29). And the Lord God has given us the Holy Spirit to help us do what he wants us to do (John 14:16; Acts 1:8):
- Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and soul and love others as Christ loved you(Mark 12:30).
- Love one another as Christ loved us (Mark 12:31; John 13:34)
- Keep the Lords commandments–Do what God says in his inspired Word of God (John 14:15; Luke 6:46; Matthews 4:4 ).
- Deny yourself and take up your cross and follow Jesus (Matthew 16:24).
- Proclaim the good news to others that Jesus Chris saves (Mark 16:15).
The Spirit helps us understand God’s holy Word (John 16:13-14).. He encourages and helps us to obey the Lord; and prepares us to appear before God (John 14:15-16).
REQUIRED TO BE CONDEMNED OR BE REWARDED
God is loving and just: He loves us so much that he gave his only begotten Son to die as an atonement for our sins, and save whoever believes in him from condemnation (John 3:16-18).
He take no pleasure in the condemnation and death of unbelieving sinners; but because of his justice: “we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to what he hath done, whether it be good or bad” (2 Corinthians 5:10).
“He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might.” (1 Thessalonians 1:8-9).
But he will “be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed” (2 Thessalonians 1:10). And “the Lord, the righteous Judge” will reward each of his people with “the crown of righteousness” (2 Timothy 4:8).
