BELIEVING GOD’S TWO DIVINE WITNESSES
The Biblical Word of God testify that the Son and the Spirit of God perform life-giving roles in our lives: It is God’s Son Jesus Christ, through whom God made us and all that is in the world (John 1:1-3, 14; Colossians 1:16). God gave his Son who died on a cross to atone for the sins of whoever believes in him (Romans 3:23; 6:23; John 3:16). The Son of God sent the Holy Spirit into the world on the day of Pentecost, to indwell and empower believers to obey the biblical Word of God; and to proclaim the gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ (Acts 1:8; Acts 2). It is vital that we believe and obey the two divine witnesses of God.
BELIEVING THE WITNESS OF JESUS CHRIST, THE WORD OF GOD
- In the beginning was the Word [Jesus], and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind…The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:1-4, 14).
- in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven (Hebrews 1:2-3).
- “A voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!” (Matthews 17:5).
- Proving that he is the Son of God, whom God the Father sent into the world, Jesus did miraculous works which no one else did (John 9:32-33; John 11:38-44; John 15:24). And he fulfilled all Scriptures concerning God promised Messianic Savior of the world (Luke 24:44=48).
- Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).
BELIEVING THE WITNESS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
- Jesus said, when he the Holy Spirit is come he will not speak of himself, but testify of and glorify Jesus (John 16:13-14).
- And Jesus said, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8).
- Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? (1 Corinthians 3:16). Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? (1 Corinthians 6:19)
The Bible shows: God’s Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit have witnessed to us about the only true God with demonstrations of divine power (John 17:3; Acts 10:38; Luke 24:44-48). “If the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus Christ from the dead lives in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you” (Romans 8:11).
God’s two divine witnesses will “ present [believers] blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy” (Jude 1:24; John 3:16).
