NEED TO KNOW THE TRUTH
Jesus said: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). The truth saves people from sin and eternal separation from God (John 8:21-24). Jesus instructs those who know the truth to go into all the world and tells others about the truth, that they might believe and be saved (Mark 16:15-16; John 3:16).
THE TRUTH ABOUT LIFE AND DEATH
“All have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 6:23). The wages of sin is death, and eternal separation from God; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ. (Romans 6:23).
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son” (John 3:16-18).
It is not God’s desire that anyone should perish; but that everyone repentant of their sins and believe in the truth of Jesus Christ, and be saved (2 Peter 3:9). God sends workers into the field of the world to give people the opportunity to hear the good news of salvation through his Son Jesus Christ.
EARLY SPREADERS OF THE TRUTH
It is not God’s desire that anyone should perish; but that everyone repentant of their sins and believe in the truth of Jesus Christ, and be saved (2 Peter 3:9). God sends workers into the field of the world to spread the gospel and give people the opportunity to hear the good news of salvation through his Son Jesus Christ.
Jesus tells a parable in which people are given opportunity to hear the truth of the word of God to be saved. In the parable, a farm-worker sows seed that is the “word of God;” however, the seed fall on different grounds or hearts:
“Those [that fall] along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature.
LATER SOWERS AND ALL REAPERS OF THE TRUTH
But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop,” (Luke 8:4-15).
As repentant believers in God’s Word today, we know that everyone has to appear before God to be judged according to the truth of his Word (Corinthians 5:10). Our Savior and Lord has assigned us the responsibility, as his disciples today, to sow or proclaim the Truth, by the Word of God and by the way we live, so others may have the opportunity to be saved. Whatever a person sows that will they reap (Galatians 6:7).
The Lord assures us that whoever repents and believes in Jesus Christ according to God’s Word will live with him in heaven forever, when he come again (John 14:3; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).
