OPENING THE DOOR TO JESUS
Jesus said: “I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me” (Revelation 3:20; John 14:23). if you have opened the door of your heart, and repented of your sins and let Jesus come in, you are especially blessed to have him as your Lord and Savior. (John 6:23; John 3:16; Acts 2:38). Some people may not have heard Jesus knocking at the door of their heart with the good news that he saves from all sin, and fellowships with them. Jesus tells us who have already let him in: “Go into the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned” (Mark 16:15-16).
HEARING THE TRUTH ABOUT JESUS
Some people have never heard the gospel of Jesus Christ. And Many have been taught false gospels by false prophets/teachers. Jesus wants the world to hear and believe the gospel truth, for he says, “The truth will set you free” (John 8::31-32).
However, the Word of God says, how can anyone hear and believe the truth unless God send someone to preach the truth to them (Romans 10:13-15). The Lord tells those he has saved to proclaim the truth so others so they can believe and be saved. This is how the truth may be proclaimed from the inspired biblical Word of God:
- Jesus said, “I am the way, and truth and the life. No one come to the Father except by me” (John 14:6).
- All have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).
- The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ (Romans 6:23)
- God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).
- Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38).
- Seek first the kingdom of God by believing in Jesus Christ, and being fill with the Holy Spirit and God will add all other things that you need and want in accordance with his will (Matthew 6:33; Psalm 37:4).
EXPOSING LIES ABOUT JESUS
The Bible forms us that not all who preach are sent by God:
JESUS warns us to beware of false prophets who come in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves (Matthew 7:15).
PAUL tells us about false prophets, who are deceitful workers of Satan, masquerading as preachers of Christ and angels of light (2 Corinthians11:13-15).
PETER says, “There will be false teachers among you….In their greed these teachers will exploit you” with lies (2 Peter 2:1-3).
TIMOTHY goes on to say that in the last days, “evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.” They will have “a form of godliness,” but deny the power of God to work in their lives. He advises us to turn away from such people ( 2 Timothy 3:5; 13).
Yet Timothy tells us, having love and compassion, we should prayerfully try to reach those who oppose the truth to their own detriment–We should endeavor to instruct them with gentleness, in the hope that God might grant them repentance, that they may believe and accept the truth (2 Timothy 2:24-25).
BEING SET FREE FROM LIES ABOUT JESUS
PROSPERITY GOSPEL focuses mainly on temporal earthly achievements; rather than primarily focusing on Jesus and eternal heavenly things as the Bible teaches (Matthew 6:33; Colossians 3:2). Prosperity preaching may cause some people to lose their souls (2 Timothy 6:10).
NEW AGES/SPIRITUALITY teaches that “God is in everyone” without their needing to repent and believe in the Lord to save them from their sins, as the gospel in traditional Bibles teaches (Luke 13:3; Acts 2:38).
Some of the members of my family are under the influence of the false doctrines mentioned above. I pray often for God to set them free to believe and accept the truth of Jesus Christ.
Jesus urges us who have repented and invited the Lord into our live to share the gospel of truth with others, so they can be set free from sin and deception. And they can know about the loving relationship and fellowship they may have with the Lord. (Mark 16:15-16; Revelation 3:20).
FELLOWSHIPPING WITH JESUS
Jesus Christ comes to have a loving relationship and fellowship with you when you open the door of your heart and invite him into your life. He reminds you he loves you enough to have died you. You belong to him; and he will never leave nor forsake you. He will take care of you with all his riches in glory. He will give you abundant joy and peace not as the world gives. He will walk and talk with you all the days of your life. And he will take you to live with him in a home he has prepared for you to live with him in heaven forever.
