Our Heavenly Guide from Jesus
The Holy Spirit is our sole heavenly guide sent by Jesus to lead us into all truth (John 16:13). The Spirit of truth guides us with all the God-inspired scriptures of the Bible (John 7:38-39; 2 Timothy 3:16-17). However, there are dark spirits—deceptive angels of light and their false prophets—who distort and misrepresent scriptures to draw away followers to themselves (2 Corinthians 11:14-15; Acts 20:30). Nevertheless, those of us guided by the Spirit of truth, are told to diligently study and obey all the written words of God to follow only our Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 4:4; John 10:27-28).
Our heavenly guide forewarns us of lying spirits that appear to be telling the truth (2 Cor 11:14-15; 2 Peter 2:1).
The devil deceived Adam and Eve by manipulating God’s words (Genesis 3). The devil even attempted to deceive Jesus, the divine Son of God in the flesh, by taking the words of God out of context (Matthew 4:1-11). In misrepresenting God’s words, Satan and his agents pretend to be our helper-guides; but ultimately, they intend for us to follow and obey them (Matt 4:11).
Our guide from Jesus tells us the truth about an impactful New Age/Spirituality misrepresentation of God’s Word.
The follow is an example of how Satan and his New Age adherents may selectively take a scripture out of context to impress people to follow their angelic guides; rather than solely follow the Holy Spirit sent by Jesus Christ to guide us into all truth (John 16:13)
“Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to minister to those who will inherit salvation?”(Heb. 1:14).
In reading the entire chapter one of Hebrews, we see that the chapter is not speaking of angels as our guides. Looking at the scripture in context of the chapter and the Bible, we see it essentially focuses on Jesus Christ, as the divine Son of God–And it compares Him to angels who worship Him, and who are ministering spirits to heirs of salvations. Other scriptures inform us that God assigns His unseen angels to encamp around those who worship Him, to protect and deliver them from harm (Psalm 34:7; 91:11; 2 Kings 6:15-17). Whatever other assignments angels may have, they do not anoint us with understanding of all truth that only comes from the Holy Spirit (1 John 2:27).
Do you recognize that Jesus has anointed us with the Holy Spirit as our heavenly guide into all truth. Do you rely on the Holy Spirit as your guide to understanding the Word of God, and believing and following Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord?
