How ready are you to witness for Jesus? The Bible says you should revere Jesus Christ as Lord and be ready to give reasons for your belief in the Lord (1 Peter 3:15). The Bible provides reasons for believing in, revering and witnessing for Jesus. Positive answers to the following Biblical questions are measures of your reasons for believing in, revering and being ready to witness for Jesus.
Do you believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, and what it says about Jesus Christ is the truth (1 Timothy 3:16-17; John 14:6)?
- The Bible says, all have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).
- The wages of sinned is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ (Romans 6:23).
- God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).
- God said Jesus Christ is “my beloved Son” and you should listen to him (Luke 9:35).
- Jesus said the Scripture testify of him; but the works that the Father gave him to do, including miraculous works which no one else did, is greater testimony of his being from God John 5:36-39; John 15:24).
- The New Testament testifies that Jesus healed all manner of sickness—casted out demons—raised people from the dead—was crucified for our sins—was resurrected from the dead—and that he went to heaven to prepare a place for all who believe in him as the scriptures say.
Have you believed in Jesus Christ as the scriptures says?
- Have you been born again of the Holy Spirit by believing in Jesus as the scriptures say (John 3:1-21)?
- Have you repented of you sins, as Jesus said you must, to avoid perishing (Luke 13:3).
- Have you asked God to forgive you for you sins, and God has justified you by the atoning blood of his Son (1 John 1:8-9)?
Is the Holy Spirit conforming you to the likeness of God’s Son, and making you a more effective witness for Jesus Christ?
- Are you doing the will of God, like Christ did, rather than your own will (Luke 22:42; Matthew 7:21).
- Are you willing to take up the cross that God gives you and suffer like the Lord did?
- Are you praying and using the help of the Holy Spirit to divest you of your old lifestyle and be holy as Christ is holy (1 Peter 1:13-16).
Are you willing and ready to witness for Jesus by proclaiming the gospel of the Lord?
- Are you willing to follow the Lord’s command to proclaim the gospel of Christ at home and abroad (perhaps by supporting other in some cases) so that people might believe in the Lord and be saved (Mark 16:15-16;Acts 1:8)?
- Have you been studying the scriptures so that you might rightly impart the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ? (2 Timothy 2:15).
