We should lift Jesus up so that others may be drawn to him.
When I first thought of writing and doing a blog, my main purpose was to help my “niece.” I was convinced she was being deceived by a false religion. She was into a religion, that did not believe that Jesus is the only way to eternal life. The Bible teaches that Jesus the only way to God the Father(John 14:6; Acts 4:12). My endeavor was to show her how the teachings of her religion were contrary to the Bible. However, I came to believe there were also others, whose lives the Lord would want me to touch with what he has taught me, through many years of studying the Bible and walking with him.
I thought of other religious concerns inside and outside my family that I might address. I believe these concerns are best dealt with through lifting the Lord up with his Word and love. The Bible instructs those who teach to do so with gentleness and humility, and pray for those who do not understand the truth. God may “grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth” (2Timothy 2:25 NIV). As workers together for the Lord, I solicit your prayers.
Some Examples of my Concerns
- I have been concerned about a relative who has been watching a preacher on TV whom I believed does not preach according to the word of God.
- Another younger family member, who is into social media, has repeatedly asked me about questionable religious teachers and their doctrines. I am happy to answer these questions with my knowledge of the Bible; but have found some of these teachings disturbing.
- A nephew seeks spiritual guidance in dealing with a confusing and challenging world.
- Still another relative ask for prayer for her daughter who is into the occult world, although her mother is a born-again Bible believer.
- In addition, I have noticed many religious problems outside the family that are due largely to people not believing in Jesus according to the Bible Word of God.
Lifting Jesus Up
- Jesus said, “if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me” (John 12:32) … The primary focus of the Holy Bible is Jesus Christ. The primary emphasis of my writing will be on lifting Jesus Christ and his cross up for men and women to see and be drawn to him.
- Any writing about false teaching and deceiving spirits will be to point out hindrances to seeing Jesus, and to contribute to having the names of believers in Jesus written in heaven (Luke 10:20). Jesus died on the cross as our Savoir. He is our risen Lord who leads us, by his Word and Spirit, through this perilous and chaotic world to live with him in heaven forever.
